It is with great sadness that I confirm the death of Queen Elizabeth II on the afternoon of Thursday 8th September 2022.
Wendover Parish Council offers condolences from the Council and Parishioners of Wendover, to King Charles III and the Royal Family on this, the saddest of occasions.
We recognise and respect the enormous debt owed to one who has given her whole life in the service of the United Kingdom, Commonwealth and wider world. Our nation has benefitted from the continuous and lasting support that the Queen has given to us all. She will be sadly missed; may she rest in peace.
Unwrapped flowers may be left on the War Memorial on the Manor Waste.
A Book of Condolence will be available at St Mary’s Church between 9.00-18.00 Monday-Friday until 17.00 on the day of the funeral. The bells will be rung for an hour on Friday from 12 noon.
The 10am Sunday service will mark the Queens death and once we know when the funeral will be held, the service of commemoration will be announced.
The Proclamation will be read in Market Square Aylesbury by the High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire at 1pm on Sunday 11th September 2022.
Wendover Parish Council will proclaim at 3.30pm on Sunday 11th September on Manor Waste.
